Standard cake flavors with standard buttercream filling start at $3.00 a serving and fondant covered cake with buttercream filling start at $3.25 a serving. Square cakes start at $3.50 a serving. Special fillings can be added with a additional charge per tier. You cake price depends on 3 things: the number of servings, the flavor of cake/filling and your cake design.
What is fondant?
Fondant is a rolled sugar dough. The kind I use taste like buttercream or vanilla, chocolate or other flavors. When the fondant is rolled out it can be draped over tiers to form a smooth surface for decorating or used for accents on a buttercream covered cake.
I do not provide the flowers unless you order gumpaste flowers.
Do you provide flowers for the cake?
Do you provide decorations for the cake table or provide platform for the cake?
No, but I would be happy to arrange any decorations that you have purchased for the cake table.
How soon in should I book my wedding cake with you?
That depends on your wedding date. Early spring months and fall months book up the quickest. Many brides book 3-6 months in advance but 6-12 months for spring weddings. However I do not book weddings more than 12 months in advance.
Do you offer consultations and what do they consist of?
Yes, I recommend them. I do ask that no more than 2 people attend. I offer up to 3 choices of cake and fillings for tasting during the consultation. After the tasting we discuss the flavors and design of your cake. Please fill free to bring pictures, color swatches, and flowers with you to help in the design of your cake. I have numerous books, magazines and picture slideshows for your viewing. I can give you a quote after the design is agreed upon. I also offer a sketch of your cake, but not until the deposit is paid to book your date.
How much of a deposit is required at the time of my booking?
A deposit of half the quoted price of your cake is required at the time of booking, $100.00 is non refundable if you cancel your cake 2 weeks before the date. The complete balance is due 2 weeks before the wedding date. If you cancel less than 2 weeks before the wedding date all monies is forfeited. The final serving amount is due 3 weeks before the wedding date which could change the price of your cake if quoted less than number turned in at time of booking.
